A Message from WesUSE- the Wesleyan Union of Student Employees:
At 9 AM on Friday, March 4th, 2022, Wesleyan Residential Life student workers will announce their union and request voluntary recognition from the university. President Roth, the Board of Trustees, and the university have until Friday, March 11th at 5 P.M. to recognize the union, or we will be forced to move to a vote.
This move is in response to continued neglect from ResLife and the university of ResLife student workers. Students have requested hazard pay considering the conditions during the COVID pandemic as well as compensation/advocacy for the flood in September in the Butterfields that student workers were forced to navigate.
WesUSE is also responding to the systemic issue of students on this campus being forced to take on and address issues that the University is responsible for.
