Unionizing in the 21st Century: A Conversation with Activist and Former Amazon Worker Chris Smalls

Join USLAC and the Wesleyan ACLU for a talk with labor rights activist Christian Smalls! Last March, Chris, a former assistant Amazon warehouse manager, was fired for leading a protest against the unsafe working conditions in a Staten Island Amazon warehouse. Since then, he has founded The Congress of Essential Workers, an organization that fights for protections for the working class and wealth redistribution. His activism not only focuses on unionization but also the fact that BIPOC workers are disproportionately put at risk and how a hazardous working environment can perpetuate racial discrimination. Don’t miss this important conversation!
